I Run Because I Love It

I run because I love it.

Running has always suited me. I almost would say I was born to run, maybe I shouldn't take it that far though. Through hard times, through good times, running has got me through.

There have been a few years when I didn't run at all. But I would always come back to it.
I have been running consistently again for about 3 years now. Funny thing is that I started back when I was a few months pregnant. Ran through my pregnancy, all the way up to the day before I gave birth. I continued to run after to lose the baby weight. And now I run to keep sane.

Running helps me a better person. A better mother. A better wife. It centers me and calms me down. I am anxious by nature and running takes that anxiety and turns in to peace.

Today I am thankful for my ability to run. For my legs that propel me forward, for my lungs that help me breathe, and for my mind that pushes me through the pain and discomfort.

I run because I love it.

My most favorite running spot in the world so far. Lumahai, Kauai, Hawaii

  1. Good for you for being able to run through your pregnancy! I only know of one other person who was able to do that. I wish I was a runner.. but it bores me to tears. And I'm clumsy, which is not good for running. LOL :)

  2. Awesome for you to be able to run through pregnancy. I made it to 5 months with my second but no running at all with the other three :P
